Access - Level One

Description

In this full day workshop participants will learn the basics of creating and using a simple Access database application. Participants will create and use tables, forms, queries, and reports. Focus will be on using Access as a productivity tool as well as an instructional tool. By the end of the workshop participants will be able to define a database, describe basic database functions, identify the basic elements of an Access database, use a database, and create a simple database.

Access - Level Two

Description

In this full day workshop participants will take a more in-depth look at queries, forms, and reports, covering topics not discussed in the Level One workshop. In addition, the concepts involved in relational databases will be discussed and demonstrated. Participants will create two table and establish a one-to-many relationship between the tables. Then they will create queries, forms, and reports that utilize that relationship.


FileMaker Pro - Level One

Description

This workshop will provide beginning users of databases with hands-on practice in designing and using these applications in classroom management and as instructional tools. Participants will create a simple database with four layouts, including graphics and navigation buttons.

Description

Participants will be able to create navigation and command buttons, relationships, calculation fields, portals, and  simple scripts. We will explore layout parts and their applications. Ideas for classroom integration will be shared. Prerequisite: basic word processing skills
